What voids my remanufactured engine warranty?

Text size

Your remanufactured engine warranty is designed to protect you — but it does have requirements. The following actions or conditions will void your warranty coverage entirely. Please read through this list carefully before and after installation.

CONDITIONS THAT VOID YOUR WARRANTY

  • Not installed by a Licensed Automotive Repair Facility (LARF) — DIY installations or installations at unlicensed shops are not covered
  • Overheating or lack of lubrication — these are the most common causes of premature engine failure and are not covered
  • Improper installation — failure to follow the pre-installation checklist voids coverage
  • Used for racing or competition of any kind
  • Aftermarket performance modifications installed on the engine
  • Serial number removed or altered
  • Contaminated or stale fuel used in the vehicle
  • Wrong oil grade used, or insufficient oil maintained
  • Seals, gaskets, and filters not replaced at the time of installation
  • Cooling system not properly flushed and fully functioning at installation
  • No new thermostat installed at the time of engine installation
  • Installed in a recreational vehicle (Class A, B, or C motorhome) over 11,000 lbs GVW
  • Used in a marine application — our gasoline engines are not designed or warranted for marine use
  • Warranty claim not pre-authorized before any repair work begins
  • Falsifying any information submitted in connection with a warranty claim

WHY THIS MATTERS

Most warranty voids are preventable. Following the pre-installation checklist, using a licensed shop, and calling us before any warranty work begins are the three most important things you can do to protect your coverage.

If you have any questions about whether something might affect your warranty, call us before you proceed — not after. Reach us at 1-844-XPARTS-1, Monday–Friday 9am–7pm EST or Saturday 11am–4pm EST.
